Know this Pro Sweepstakes Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. BY ENTERING THIS SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY ALL OFFICIAL RULES.
1. Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open only to legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older (19 or older if a resident of NE) who reside in CA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, MD, ME, MI, MO, MN, NE, NH, NC, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VT, VA, WA, WI, or WV for the entire Promotion Period. YOU MAY NOT ENTER, AND WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A PRIZE, IF YOU RESIDE OUTSIDE THE STATES LISTED ABOVE. Employees of Froedtert Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin, the Milwaukee Brewers, Journal Sentinel Inc. and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, authorized agents, sales representatives, distributors, advertising agencies, promotional agencies and the immediate families of each (defined as including spouse, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren, and each of their respective spouses) or households (whether related or not) of any of the above are NOT eligible to participate in this sweepstakes. Non-eligibility or non-compliance with any of these official rules will result in disqualification.
2. How to Enter: Look at the bi-weekly advertisement in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel featuring childhood photographs of current Milwaukee Brewers Players. Using the website, www.jsonline.com/knowthispro, register and write-in the Brewers player featured in the Know this Pro Journal Sentinel ad. One entry per round. Advertisements will be published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel every Friday starting April 4th, 2014 and ending September 26th, 2014. Entries with respect to each advertisement must be submitted by the prior Thursday (Thursday before the Friday “reveal” ad is printed).
The Sweepstakes begins on April 4, 2014 and runs through September 26, 2014, (the “Promotion Period”). (See Rule 4, below, for individual drawing dates and deadlines for receipt of entries for each drawing.)
3. Drawing: Potential winners will be selected randomly on a weekly basis from all eligible entries who correctly pick the player featured in the Know this Pro Journal Sentinel ad during that week. If no correct answers are submitted, a winner will be selected from all eligible entries during that week regardless of the player submitted. The drawings will be conducted by Journal Sentinel Inc. (“Administrator”), whose decisions shall be final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. The judges reserve the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the sweepstakes in the event of fraud, technical failures, or any other factor beyond the sponsor’s reasonable control, which may impair the integrity of the sweepstakes.
4. Prizes: Two (2) tickets to a Milwaukee Brewers regular season home game provided by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Total ARV of all available prizes: TBD. Items to change without notice. Limit one prize per household. The prizes will be awarded subject to the restrictions and limitations noted in these official rules, on the prizes and/or included with the prizes, and all winners must abide by all such limitations and restrictions. Odds of winning a prize depend on number of eligible entries received from all entry methods combined as of the entry deadline for each drawing. Prizes will be awarded after each “reveal” ad, randomly pulled from all correct entries. Prizes are non-transferable, and no substitutions or cash or credit redemptions will be made except as provided herein. In case of unavailability of any prize or any component thereof, the sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize or portion thereof of equal or greater value.
All winners agree to accept all prizes “as is.” The prizes consist only of the items described herein. Any expenses related to a prize that are not expressly included with the prize or in the prize descriptions above are the winner’s responsibility. Neither the sponsor nor other companies associated with this sweepstakes are responsible for postponement, delay or cancellation of any of the events in prize descriptions above. If an event is cancelled for any reason, no compensation will be awarded in lieu thereof, but remainder of prize (if any) will be awarded. Prize components may be subject to additional restrictions and limitations of prize providers.
5. Liability/Warranty/Indemnification: By accepting a prize, each winner acknowledges that Sponsor and Administrator have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize or any component thereof. By accepting a prize, each winner agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Froedtert Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin and Journal Sentinel Inc. and their respective affiliates and subsidiaries, and the officers, directors, employees, agents, and other representatives of each of the foregoing, from and against any claims, judgments, losses, damages, liabilities, fines, costs or expenses associated with or arising from: participation in this Sweepstakes; the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize; participation in prize-related activities, including but not limited to travel related thereto; any breach or claimed breach of these Rules by any entrant; or any tortuous act or omission (or claimed tortuous act or omission) by any entrant in connection with any prize, or attendance at any event.
6. Additional Terms and Conditions: Froedtert Health, the Medical College of Wisconsin and Journal Sentinel, Inc. are not responsible for entries that may be lost, late, delayed, damaged, destroyed, inaudible, garbled, postage-due or misdirected, or for printing errors in the official rules or in any material distributed in connection with this Sweepstakes. Sponsor and Administrator is further not responsible for telephone or technical malfunction or error, or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries or for injury or damage to telephones used to enter Sweepstakes. If, in the Sponsor’s and Administrator’s sole opinion, the sweepstakes is compromised in a way that corrupts or impairs its administration, security, fairness or proper play, the Sponsor and Administrator may suspend, modify, or terminate the sweepstakes, and may, but is not obligated to, select winners for the remaining prizes in a random drawing from eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to such action.
Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify and prosecute any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process. Acceptance of a prize shall constitute and signify each winner's agreement and consent that the sponsor may use the winner's name, likeness and/or prize information without limitation or additional notice or compensation for promotional purposes in all media worldwide, except where prohibited by law. Administrator’s decisions in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes are final.
Potential winners must complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (where permitted) within a specified time period as a condition of claiming the prize, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected at the sponsor’s discretion, time permitting. All entries become property of the sponsor, and will not be returned or acknowledged except as provided herein.
BY ENTERING, YOU AGREE THAT IN NO EVENT WILL SPONSOR, ADMINISTRATOR, THEIR RESPECTIVE AFFILIATES, SUBSIDIARIES, RELATED COMPANIES, ADVERTISING OR PROMOTION AGENCIES, OR ANY OF THE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES OR AGENTS OF ANY OF THE FOREGOING, BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING IN ANY WAY FROM OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES.
SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS.
All federal, state and local income taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner. The administrator will attempt to notify winners via email if submitted by website. All prizes will be awarded provided they are claimed properly.
7. Disputes: Except where prohibited, by entering, each entrant agrees that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this sweepstakes or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and, (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this sweepstakes, but in no event attorneys' fees. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, or the rights and obligations of the participants and sponsor, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules which would cause the application of the laws of a different jurisdiction.
8. Winner List: For the names of the winners (available after the drawing date) send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Journal Sentinel ”Know this Pro”, Attn: Tom Baylerian, 333 West State St., Milwaukee, WI 53201. Requests must be received by October 15, 2014.
