 Vote for suburbs' best softball players
and you could win a pair of Brewers tickets!
Help us pick our 2009 NOW Newspapers All-Suburban Softball Team
For the first time ever, preps sports fans will have the opportunity to vote for the NOW Newspapers All-Suburban Team. Vote for one player per position, as well as the coach of the year and player of the year.
Not only will the fans vote count toward the selection of this all-area team, but five lucky fans who vote will win a pair of Brewers tickets to an upcoming game.
How do I vote?
Click on the VOTE NOW tab above and you'll see profiles of the players and coaches broken down by group - pitcher, catcher, infielder, outfielder and utility player. In additon, there is voting for coach of the year and player of the year.
You can vote for one person in each group; and you can vote once per day. Voting will end at 11:59 p.m. June 19.
You must first register to vote by clicking on the REGISTRATION tab above.
What happens after I vote?
The composite fan vote will be taken into consideration when determining the NOW Newspapers All-Suburban Softball Team. The NOW sports staff's votes will represent 75% of the total vote for the players; the fan vote will represent 25%. The player with the most votes at each position -- based on the fans and sports staff votes -- will be named to the team.
Dozens of players were nominated by their coaches for the NOW All-Suburban team. The players and coaches that appear on the online ballot received at least one staff vote in the first portion of the selection process conducted by the NOW sports staff.
Are there prizes for voting?
Yes. After all votes are cast, we will randomly select five people who voted and they each will receive a pair of tickets to a 2009 Brewers game.
When will the All-Suburban Team be announced?
The team will be announced online and in your local NOW newspaper on June 25. The winners of the Brewers tickets also will be announced at that time.
Why must I register to vote?
We ask for people to register to ensure that a person is voting only once per day. Once you register, you will automatically be registered for all future MyCommunityNOW.com and JS Online contests.
When you register, you will be asked to create a user name and password. After you do that, you can simply log on and skip the registration process the next time you want to vote.
